Position Summary:

The role of Manager in Training is designed to equip a dedicated candidate with the skills necessary to effectively oversee store operations and staff activities. This position involves assisting in the implementation of company policies, procedures, and programs while striving to achieve or surpass sales and internal objectives. Your progress will be assessed collectively with your Area and Zone Manager to determine the most suitable promotional path, whether as an Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.

Responsibilities:

The following outlines the essential functions of this position, though management may assign additional tasks as necessary:

  • Support the coordination of store activities to maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of hourly associates.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer service, addressing complaints promptly.
  • Oversee the freight process to ensure compliance with company guidelines and productivity standards.
  • Maintain store standards for both interior and exterior, ensuring merchandise is presented according to company directives.
  • Assist in managing office functions, payroll, and controllable expenses.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of innovative strategies to boost store sales while minimizing losses.
  • Maintain communication with Area and Zone Managers regarding company initiatives.
  • Support human resource management tasks, including staffing plans, performance evaluations, and training & development.
  • Assist in preparing necessary reports and documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Assist in overseeing store staff.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel is anticipated for this role.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain an Indiana State Employee Liquor Permit.
  • Ability to secure an Indiana State Approved Server Training Certification.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the store.
  • Must be able to frequently move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, utilizing a dolly when necessary for safety.
  • Must be capable of performing duties independently.
