Job Title: Interim Senior Property Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Property Accountant to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing financial support to our clients in the commercial real estate industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Project-level cash analysis and review of expenditures in NEXUS and MRI systems
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries and perform vendor callbacks to verify banking information
  • Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and prepare calculations of various fees due to the company and third parties
  • Record month-end journal entries and facilitate the closing process, including balance sheet reconciliation and maintenance of the general ledger
  • Assist Asset Managers with preparing and submitting draw requests to lenders and participate in the quarter-end close process
  • Prepare financial packages for tax accountants and review partnership tax returns, as well as respond to tax and audit inquiries
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Property Accountant (Senior to Senior Manager level) within a commercial real estate company
  • Experience with MRI is a plus, but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
