Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at UW Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department, working closely with providers, nurses, and other caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including taking blood samples, starting IVs and catheters, and recording information in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Respond to pages and codes, and assist as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Act as an observer for behavioral health complaints.
Requirements
  • Minimum - Completion of EMT-Basic program.
  • Preferred - Completion of AEMT or Paramedic program, with relevant experience in Emergency Departments, hospitals, or other healthcare entities.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • EMT-B License or National Registry of EMT.
    • Current CPR/BLS certification.
    • Preferred - National Registry or Wisconsin Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic license, ACLS and PALS certification.
