Job Title: Emergency Tech

UW Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join our team at East Madison Hospital.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Technician to provide high-quality patient care in our fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center. As an Emergency Department Technician, you will be one of the first points of contact for patients and their families, providing emotional support and assistance with medical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and their families in the Emergency Department.
  • Assist with taking blood samples, starting IVs and catheters, and other medical procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other caregivers to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Record patient information in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist as directed.
  • Act as an observer for behavioral health complaints.
Requirements:
  • EMT-Basic certification or higher.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Preferred: AEMT or Paramedic certification, ACLS and PALS certification.
