As an Educational Support Specialist, you will deliver personalized supervision and instruction to designated students while providing additional assistance to the core classroom team.

Working closely with students to implement their individualized education plans (IEP), you will employ both group and individual instruction within the classroom and community settings.


Key Responsibilities Include:
Assisting students in enhancing their community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.


Executing curriculum (including all on-site and community-based instruction) and behavioral intervention strategies in alignment with the IEP/ITP (Individual Transition Plan)/PBIP (Positive Behavior Intervention Plan) to achieve each student's goals and objectives.

Monitoring and guiding students during lessons in the classroom to ensure adherence to instructional fidelity.


Encouraging and tracking the progress of individual students according to specific timelines and communicating with the classroom teacher regarding overall progress and any necessary interventions.


Completing precise and timely documentation on student behavior as outlined by school procedures; reporting observations to relevant staff and making recommendations based on these observations.

Assisting in the preparation of behavioral reports and daily activity logs as required.

Upholding the confidentiality of student information and records at all times.

Participating in school meetings, student/parent conferences, and individual student advisory meetings as requested and required.

Responding constructively to both formal and informal feedback.

Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of a basic skills assessment.

Associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.

Active paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant, and/or PPS certification is preferred.

Previous experience working with children in an educational program setting is essential.

Experience in a special education program setting is preferred.

Experience working with individuals with severe emotional and/or behavioral disorders is preferred.

Ability to think and act swiftly and calmly in emergency situations and make independent decisions.

Strong motivational skills and a willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives.

Highly effective oral and written communication, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
