Criminal Investigators at GeorgiaGov are responsible for conducting thorough investigations and interviews with life-sentenced inmates, restoration of rights applicants, and parolees requesting commutation of their sentences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-person interviews with individuals requesting commutation of their sentences
  • Complete a thorough investigation and prepare an investigative report for the Board
  • Ensure all investigations are conducted in accordance with POST law enforcement standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of experience in a related field, or four years of experience in law enforcement or a related field
  • P.O.S.T. certification and valid Class C driver's license (may be required for some positions)
