Job Summary

The Department of Law is seeking a highly skilled Investigative Auditor to join our team in the Medicaid Fraud Division. As an Investigative Auditor, you will play a critical role in uncovering and preventing Medicaid fraud, ensuring the integrity of our healthcare system.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs, including operations and reimbursement policies.
  • Collaborate with investigative teams to plan and execute financial and audit strategies for criminal and civil fraud investigations.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss case aspects and analyze data to summarize findings on audit procedures and financial matters.
  • Collect, evaluate, and analyze evidence to form conclusions and prepare documentation of results.
  • Assist in conducting search warrants and handling evidence in accordance with Unit policy.
  • Prepare analyses identifying amounts and types of fraud and write reports summarizing conclusions reached during investigations.
  • Prepare trial exhibits to aid judges and/or jury members in understanding testimony.
  • Serve as a summary witness in prosecution of alleged Medicaid fraud cases, grand jury proceedings, motion hearings, and sentencing hearings.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Audit experience in medical claims and/or claims data, or certification as a CPA or CFE.
