Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medicaid Fraud Investigator to join our team at the Georgia Department of Law. As a key member of our Medicaid Fraud Division, you will be responsible for conducting thorough and accurate investigations into healthcare fraud and patient abuse allegations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct health care fraud investigations, including reviewing documentation, conducting interviews, and gathering intelligence information.
  • Assist criminal justice personnel in conducting on-site health care fraud and patient abuse investigations.
  • Participate in the planning and gathering of information for investigations involving health care fraud and patient abuse.
  • Assist in executing on-site search warrants to obtain evidence of health care fraud and patient abuse.
  • Prepare thorough and accurate reports documenting interviews, search warrants, and analyses of financial databases.
  • Present courtroom testimony utilizing proper courtroom demeanor and assist prosecutors in coordinating pre-trial activities.
  • Maintain professional knowledge of current trends and developments in the field and apply pertinent new knowledge to the performance of assigned responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Fraud investigation or related experience.
  • POST-Certification or equivalent.
  • Criminal Justice or Business related BA degree.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner.
  • Law enforcement experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Experience with social media and digital evidence-based investigations.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who possess one or more of the following:

  • POST-Certification.
  • Criminal Justice or Business related BA degree.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner.
  • Law enforcement experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Experience with social media and digital evidence-based investigations.
