About the Role

GRID Alternatives is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Mid-Atlantic region. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of our operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Organizational Management
    • Lead a diverse team of staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles.
    • Develop and implement strategies to advance equity, inclusion, and diversity initiatives within the organization.
    • Collaborate with the GRID Alternatives national leadership team and affiliate Board to achieve regional and organizational goals.
  • Fundraising and Financial Management
    • Develop and execute fundraising strategies to ensure the financial sustainability of the region.
    • Manage the regional budget and ensure effective financial management practices.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee the delivery of high-quality programs and services in the region, aligning with GRID Alternatives' mission and vision.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, funders, and government agencies.
  • Strategy and Advocacy
    • Develop and implement strategies to advance GRID Alternatives' mission and goals in the region.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to advance policy and advocacy efforts.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of senior/executive management experience.
  • Strong commitment to GRID Alternatives' mission and values.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, financial management, and operations management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous non-profit management experience.
  • Connections to affordable housing, philanthropic, job training, solar, clean transportation, and low-income advocacy organizations/communities in the Washington, DC metro area.
  • Knowledge of solar energy development and/or construction.
  • Technical skills, including MS Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 403(b) retirement plan.
  • 5 weeks of paid time off and 13 paid holidays.
