Job Summary

Lane Transit District is seeking a Public Safety Officer to provide security and emergency response services for the riding public, employees, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide information and assistance to the public, employees, and visitors.
  • Enforce District ordinances, rules, and regulations.
  • Patrol District and jurisdictional areas to prevent and detect violations.
  • Investigate complaints and incidents, and provide reports as required.
  • Assist law enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Provide crowd and traffic control coverage at special events.
  • Assist with emergency response and provide first aid as needed.
  • Write detailed reports on accidents, citations, and other incidents.
  • Testify in court as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or college coursework preferred.
  • Valid Oregon Class C driver's license with acceptable history; Class B with P & A endorsement preferred.
  • Sufficient physical strength, flexibility, and endurance to meet LTD standards.
  • Ability to work outside of schedule to support the transit system in emergency situations.
  • Must pass a thorough background investigation and medical evaluation.
