We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. as a CNC Specialist on our 2nd shift. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex CNC machinery, ensuring high-quality production and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation: Load castings and raw materials onto designated pallets in accordance with setup instructions for 5-axis CNC machining in an automated environment.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance activities on assigned machines, recording activity on machine tablets, including general cleaning, coolant concentration checks, and other general cleaning tasks.
- Quality Control: Coordinate with the Quality Control department to validate part quality from QC reports, and for any non-conforming issues, validate part setup, tool builds, fixture requirements, and machine geometry, and coordinate data with QC and Manufacturing Engineering to achieve the required resolution and expected quality.
- Alarm Recovery: Recover machines and automation robots from any alarms that may occur.
- Documentation: Document machine and automation robot issues resulting in lost production in the TRD tracking system with full details, with the intention to diagnose root cause and corrective action of the issue.
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, and an AA degree completed trade course or relevant experience in CNC machinery.
- Experience: 3 years' experience working in a highly dynamic, metric-driven, close-tolerance manufacturing environment, with responsibilities in machine operation, programming, and cutting tool selection and maintenance.
- Skills: Strong knowledge in machine tooling applications, strong organizational and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail, required to coordinate with multiple machinists.
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Project, PowerPoint), and professional communication via email systems.
- Knowledge of 5-axis CNC machine controls: Heidenhain, Mazatrol experience is preferred, with the ability to select, retrieve, and run programs.
- Strong background in working with 5-axis milling machines: Hands-on experience working with Heidenhain ITNC 530/640 and Mazatrol machine controls.
- Root Cause Analysis: Direct experience with root cause analysis associated with CNC machine tools, cutting tools, and human performance.
- Passion for Precision and Efficiency: Passion for precision and efficiency, and experience working in and maintaining a shop floor with a 5S culture.
- Competitive Salary: The annual base salary range for this position is $69,112,600.
