We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Regional Counsel within our Legal Team, stationed at one of our central offices. The Regional Counsel will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support for contracting within a designated region of Atlas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to the regional operations team, offering legal insights and contracting assistance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents with clients, contractors, suppliers, and business associates.
- Inform internal stakeholders about contract statuses, legal risks, and liabilities related to projects and transactions, acting as the primary legal contact for regional operations.
- Provide practical, business-focused legal counsel aimed at achieving the company and regional objectives while ensuring legal compliance.
- Proactively identify potential legal issues, apply effective risk management strategies, and offer preemptive legal advice.
- Collaborate with fellow Legal Team members to enhance processes and operational efficiency.
- Investigate, negotiate, and manage contractual claims and disputes within the region.
- Support other Legal Department members as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned periodically.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of legal experience, with 3 to 5 years in a related industry preferred.
- Familiarity with the contracting process for Alternative Delivery Projects, particularly in negotiating contracts for Design Build Projects, is advantageous.
- Experience with professional engineering and construction licensing is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a high regard for client service and teamwork.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution, with active state bar membership in good standing.
Additional Qualities:
- The role typically requires the physical demands associated with an office environment, including desk work and movement within the office.
- Occasional domestic travel for meetings and project site visits may be necessary.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $160,000 annually, determined based on individual qualifications and experience.
