Job Title: Regional Counsel

Atlas is a nationwide leader in civil engineering, materials testing, and geotechnical consulting services for environmental, industrial, and infrastructure construction projects. As Regional Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and contracting support to one of our regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and contracting support to internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Structure, draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Advise on contract status, legal risks, and liabilities associated with projects and transactions.
  • Deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice to meet company and regional goals in a legally compliant manner.
  • Anticipate legal issues, apply effective risk management techniques, and offer proactive advice on potential legal issues.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Legal Team to continuously improve processes and operations.
  • Investigate, negotiate, and manage contractual claims and disputes within the region.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience with 3 to 5 years of related industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with the contracting process for Alternative Delivery Projects, including negotiating contracts specific to Design Build Projects, preferred.
  • Experience with professional engineering and construction licensing preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, high value for client service, and collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Juris Doctorate from a recognized institution, with state bar membership in good standing.
