Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring that all work activities under its span of control are performed with attention to the highest standards of food quality, safe processes, compliance with all appropriate legal requirements, and a focus on continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce and verify food safety and sanitation policies throughout the plant
  • Conduct Listeria testing, instrument calibrations, and monthly glass, brittle, and plastic inspections
  • Perform monthly food safety inspections, retained samples collection, raw material sampling, and GMP audits
  • Train team members on various policies and procedures, including GMPs, SOPs, and HACCP
  • Verify in-line product weight and temperature, conduct allergen testing, and translate company policies and procedures
  • Evaluate products, file documents, and perform daily cleaning
  • Conduct pre-operational testing using ATP/APC and communicate with production staff when deviations occur
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • HACCP certification (preferred)
  • ServSafe certification (preferred)
  • Food Safety certification (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a QA technician in a USDA/FDA inspected facility
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Experience with enforcing a HACCP Program
  • Experience in training and mentoring team members
  • Experience with basic lab procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Bi-lingual skills (a plus)

Work Environment
  • The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, specifically the packing and production areas
  • Standing most of the workday is required
  • Work requires movement in and out of storerooms, near heavy machinery and freezers
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
