About the Job

As a Metrologist at KI Industries, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and performing part layouts, capability studies, and gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies.
  • Verifying fit, form, and function for intended use as defined by customer and KI expectations.
  • Managing all instruments in the KI Calibration management software Calibration Recall.
  • Providing weekly reports to the Quality Manager to ensure all gages requiring outside calibration are sent out in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the gage log and ordering gages as required for KI and KI suppliers.
  • Attending meetings as determined by the Quality Manager.
  • Communicating effectively with departmental supervision to enable proactive responses to customers and suppliers.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of various quality system measuring devices, including video and contact CMMs, CMM software applications, handheld gages, and color measuring equipment.
  • Ability to apply GD & T measuring in the interpretation of engineering requirements of KI, customers, and KI suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Word, Spreadsheets, Calibration, Outlook, and alternative software solution packages.
  • Accuracy in processing data and information, record keeping, and tabulating.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with the application, use, and locating registered specifications (ASTM, MIL, etc.), nondestructive and destructive testing, and functional verification.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.

Education

A High School Diploma or related Metrologist experience is required.
