About the Role

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Hazard Mitigation Project Manager to join our growing national mitigation and resilience practice. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate with industry-leading experts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage staff to develop high-quality deliverables through project management and achieve client satisfaction.
  • Grow the practice through new and repeat clients, leveraging your expertise in hazard mitigation and long-term resilience planning.
  • Work with communities and counties to facilitate DMA-2000 hazard mitigation plan updates and develop and coordinate input to a wide range of mitigation and adaptation plans.
  • Support local government and public outreach, facilitating meetings and interpreting risk assessment results to communicate in written plans.
  • Review local plans, ordinances, policies, and update hazard mitigation plans accordingly, managing large data sets and identifying mitigation projects to reduce natural hazard risk.
  • Conduct capacity building activities, including developing decision support tools, strategy development, and community engagement.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Sustainability, Climate Change, Resilience, Public Policy, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified by American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or working toward certification a plus.
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated knowledge of mitigation and resilience planning, land use/general planning, mitigation and adaptation strategy identification, risk assessment, climate hazards, federal/state funding mechanisms, federal and state climate, resilience, emergency management policies and programs, best practices, and standards.
  • Proven track record of project management of planning projects, with a strong network in the mitigation and resilience space to support business development.
