Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative is a critical member of the physician's care team, responsible for creating a seamless patient experience within an ambulatory clinic. This role involves front desk operations, including greeting and checking in customers and visitors, answering calls, copay collection, and completing MyChart and EMR appointment requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Visit Scheduling: Schedule internal and external incoming department referrals, in-person appointments, telehealth visits, surgeries, procedures, and ancillary services using Epic Cadence decision trees.
  • Registration and Verification: Register patients during the scheduling process, including entering demographics, insurance verification, and completing the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ).
  • Point of Service Collections: Collect copays, co-insurance, and deductibles from patients.
  • MyChart Activation and Support: Assist patients with MyChart activation and support, including online check-in prior to appointments.
  • Standard Check-In and Check-Out: Perform high-volume patient clinic check-in and check-out, and phone reception, following health system standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 or more years of customer service or healthcare experience.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams, and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
