Position Summary:

As an Automotive Engineering Project Specialist, you will be instrumental in the strategic planning, execution, and successful completion of various engineering projects encompassing mechanical, software, electrical, and industrial disciplines. Your technical proficiency and project management acumen will be vital in ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning:
    • Formulate comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets in partnership with management and cross-functional teams.
    • Establish clear project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
  2. Design and Engineering:
    • Lead the design initiatives, including the development of detailed drawings, specifications, algorithms, and testing protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
  3. Material Selection and Procurement:
    • Work collaboratively with procurement teams to identify suitable materials for projects.
    • Oversee the procurement process to guarantee timely material delivery within budget constraints.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with project execution.
    • Devise and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  5. Quality Assurance:
    • Establish and uphold quality assurance protocols to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Project Execution:
    • Manage the execution of engineering projects, coordinating activities and resources effectively.
    • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.
  7. Collaboration:
    • Engage closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, managers, technicians, and clients.
    • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to achieve project goals.
  8. Budget and Cost Control:
    • Track project budgets and expenditures, ensuring costs remain within approved limits.
    • Provide accurate cost estimates for components and labor as needed.
  9. Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date project documentation, including design files and engineering reports.
    • Enhance efficiency through the development of templates and tools for documentation.
  10. Communication:
    • Effectively communicate project status, updates, and potential challenges to stakeholders.
    • Facilitate regular project meetings to assess progress and address any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as an engineer, preferably in the automotive sector, with a focus on project management.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with common applications (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Illustrator, Excel, etc.).
  • Experience with artificial intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
