Job Summary

The Machinery Systems Engineer is a key member of our team at Philly Shipyard, Inc., responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of complex systems and equipment on our new construction shipbuilding and repair projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical specifications for assigned systems and equipment
  • Collaborate with design and purchasing partners to ensure compliance with shipyard standards and regulations
  • Review and approve design drawings and diagrams for accuracy and consistency
  • Interface with owners, classification societies, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical issues
  • Participate in build method planning and coordinate with production teams to ensure timely installation of equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in shipbuilding, construction, or manufacturing
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic CAD systems
  • Knowledge of piping systems and standards, as well as machinery equipment and modern shipbuilding practices
