The Program Coordinator for Child and Family Services is tasked with delivering essential administrative assistance to ensure smooth daily operations within the department. This role also includes welcoming families and providing support within childcare initiatives, as well as performing data entry and offering assistance for the Family Services Program.
This position emphasizes the importance of educational qualifications and relevant experience:
- High School diploma or GED is required; bilingual skills (Spanish) are advantageous.
- A minimum of two years in a related clerical or administrative role, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Fundamental cooking skills are necessary.
- Experience in food service, including food preparation or hospitality, is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to achieve Serv-Safe Certification is required.
- Attend meetings as necessary to document minutes.
- Handle incoming calls with professionalism, directing them appropriately or addressing general inquiries about the programs.
- Assist with the application process for childcare services as needed.
- Receive and manage deliveries for the department.
- Process all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Welcome and oversee the drop-off and pick-up procedures for children.
- Input data into various systems for screenings, assessments, and family support programs.
- Engage in active supervision of children, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Support the organization of food deliveries.
- Help prepare meals and snacks for children, staff, and volunteers, in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
- Assist with the cleanup after meals, ensuring sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment.
- Maintain safe food storage practices and uphold kitchen sanitation standards.
- Exemplify good hygiene and appropriate conduct for self, staff, and volunteers.
- Occasionally work with children on food-related activities as requested.
- Keep records of meal attendance and food types provided.
- Assume the responsibilities of the cook in their absence.
- Pursue ongoing education in nutrition and food service through workshops and training opportunities.
- Stay informed about the special dietary needs of children, including food allergies.
- Communicate any concerns or suggestions regarding nutrition or food services to the appropriate supervisory staff.
- Be prepared to transport food to other locations if necessary.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor or department director to enhance program effectiveness.
