Mechanical Automation Technician

Shift Details: Nights M-F 9pm - 5am

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, upkeep, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems as directed by management, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and calibrations, perform preventative maintenance, and execute repairs on all mechanical and electrical assets that affect facility operations, physical structures, and surrounding grounds.
  • At automated facilities, carry out preventative maintenance tasks on proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, push buttons, and related testing equipment.
  • Inspect and perform basic repairs on refrigeration systems.
  • Execute preventative maintenance on material handling equipment according to manufacturer and company standards to guarantee safe and efficient operation.
  • Document inspections, evaluations, and maintenance procedures, and communicate relevant information regarding equipment performance and upkeep to management on a daily basis.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Utilize power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment to cut or join metal components.
  • Operate onsite motorized lifts and rental equipment as necessary while performing inspections, calibrations, and maintenance tasks.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance with minimal supervision and clear instructions.
  • Proficient in operating both power and hand tools.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload with effective organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature conditions, including cold storage environments.
  • Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./23 kgs., with variations depending on the facility.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as necessary.
  • Some locations may require familiarity with working at heights.
