POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager specializing in Mechanical Engineering to oversee the development and execution of innovative mechanical systems for data center projects. This role is essential for ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate is a Mechanical Engineer with a proactive mindset, eager to tackle unique engineering challenges. You possess a comprehensive understanding of how design influences construction and are adept at learning from field visits.

Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to convey complex concepts clearly across various digital platforms, including design drawings, presentations, and video conferences, both internally and to clients.

You have a proven track record in quality assurance and quality control of design documents for large-scale projects exceeding 200,000 square feet. Your organizational skills enable you to adapt to shifting project priorities, ensuring that your team remains on schedule.
You excel in managing cross-functional stakeholders to facilitate program-level processes and commissioning of assets. Your experience includes coordinating mechanical scopes with various trade disciplines, including architecture, telecommunications, electrical, plumbing, structural, and civil engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the development of next-generation mechanical system products.
- Collaborate with core engineering teams to introduce new technologies during product development, creating system-level concepts and detailed designs.
- Prepare a variety of documentation, including statements of work, engineering reports, design documents, total cost of ownership analyses, drawing markups, budgets, schedules, and commissioning program documents.
- Oversee the documentation of mechanical designs and end-to-end scopes for data center construction.
- Work closely with design, construction, facilities, and environmental health and safety teams to develop proprietary mechanical designs and products for data centers.
- Translate system requirements into design drawings for external consultants.
- Implement automation tools to enhance production efficiency.
- Review in-progress drawings and models to ensure documentation meets required detail levels, identifying coordination issues and prioritizing critical items during design meetings.
- Proactively communicate challenges to relevant teams, develop solutions, and implement approved strategies.

SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position involves formal supervision of employees within a specific functional area. Responsibilities include approving recommendations for recruitment, selection, promotion, and corrective actions. You will also mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and competencies.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering preferred) and a minimum of six years of relevant experience.
- Preferred qualifications include over eight years of experience in mechanical design and construction management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit or similar software.
- Familiarity with cross-disciplinary teamwork in architecture, civil, electrical, plumbing, structural, and telecommunications.
- Strong project management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience with data center environments and equipment.
- Knowledge of financial principles and the ability to conduct business analysis.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to interpret architectural drawings are essential. Knowledge of project management tools and construction practices is also beneficial.
