Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership, management, and technical expertise to the Paint Department.
  • Manage financial aspects of operations and Paint Department, understanding the effect on financial performance.
  • Develop, review, and maintain budgets and expenses for Paint department.
  • Lead, manage, and provide technical expertise/work direction to manufacturing teams.
  • Work with other areas to establish and maintain stable production schedules, labor requirements, material flow, etc.
  • Direct, implement, and maintain operational-level strategies and objectives and monitor performance against plan.
  • Manage, monitor, and control material, labor, and overhead costs in respective area.
  • Maintain appropriate level of staff support necessary to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Reduce the cost of daily operations by continually improving processes and eliminating waste.
  • Champion projects for improvements in process and product innovations, customer relations, and functional capabilities based on lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Work with new product development to launch programs into production.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
  • Ensure that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field including a minimum of five years of paint experience; or equivalent.
  • Five years' experience with paint and paint systems strongly preferred.
  • Thorough and complete mastery of the Paint field.
  • Well-developed and proven leadership style with the ability to mentor, coach, counsel, and train toward long-term departmental and organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated employee relationship and management skills to support, develop, and lead a cohesive team.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to effectively communicate to diverse educational backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated project and program management skills and proven financial capabilities to maintain quality, cost, and timing of programs.
  • Strong analytical and disciplined problem-solving skills.
