Job Description

VitalCore Health Strategies, a leading provider of correctional healthcare, seeks a highly qualified Statewide Psychiatric Director to oversee psychiatric services in the Michigan Department of Corrections. The successful candidate will ensure that all psychiatric services are delivered in accordance with the highest standards of care and in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

The Statewide Psychiatric Director will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to psychiatric care, as well as providing clinical supervision to psychiatric staff. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all psychiatric services are delivered in a timely and effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. They will be able to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and other stakeholders, and will be committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of psychiatric services to inmates in the Michigan Department of Corrections
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to psychiatric care
  • Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric staff
  • Ensure that all psychiatric services are delivered in accordance with the highest standards of care
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in psychiatry
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Michigan
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the practice of psychiatry
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory or administrative role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a correctional setting
  • Experience working with underserved populations
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs)
