Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nutritionist III to oversee a nutrition program at a health center or clinic. The successful candidate will supervise professional and clerical nutrition staff, review patient files, and direct program operations to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of nutrition staff to deliver high-quality services
  • Review patient files to ensure accuracy and completeness of nutrition assessments and care plans
  • Direct program operations to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
  • Provide in-service training to staff on nutritional care standards
  • Coordinate nutrition workshops and participate in health fairs to promote good health care and nutrition practices
  • Prepare program status reports in compliance with program and funding guidelines
  • Provide nutritional services to clients, assessing their needs and developing care plans
  • Maintain a directory of community resources and identify sites for program activities
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a related field
  • Three years of work experience in public health nutrition or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential awarded by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Illinois
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience in maternal child health and lactation consultation
  • Previous experience supervising and managing teams

The selected candidate will be required to complete an interview, which may include a written exercise and/or skills assessment test.
