Position Overview

The Construction Technology Support Specialist I plays a crucial role in enhancing the use of Construction Technology for Kiewit operators. This position is dedicated to ensuring project and user success through the setup, configuration, and personalization of platforms such as Trimble Earthworks, GCS900, Worksmanager, and Caterpillar Grade Control, among others.

This role is essential across all Kiewit markets and will report directly to the Construction Technology Operations Manager.

District Overview

Kiewit Construction Technology (KCT) is at the forefront of the construction technology sector. Our mission is to deliver comprehensive support to Kiewit projects throughout their use of Construction Technology, thereby boosting productivity and reducing project costs through our innovative rental model.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct machine and application assistance to Kiewit personnel.
  • Provide support services through direct user engagement, phone communication, and remote administration tools.
  • Manage the entry, updating, and closure of work orders.
  • Conduct training sessions for craft and staff personnel, both in-person and virtually.
  • Troubleshoot systems and applications, collaborating with vendors as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Install and monitor software/hardware on Kiewit equipment.
  • Assist in gathering project requirements and implementation processes.
  • Help maintain current technical documentation.
  • Adhere to Kiewit and project safety protocols as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with users and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and other data entry software.
  • Experience in Construction Technology execution is preferred.
  • Technical background in software/hardware troubleshooting and installation.
  • Experience with 3D machine control and RTK GNSS is preferred.
  • Quick learner with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with excellent multitasking skills.
Other Requirements

Regular and reliable attendance is essential. Candidates must be able to work productively and meet deadlines. Effective communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others in both individual and team settings are required. Safety and effectiveness in work performance are paramount, along with the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including safety signs and equipment usage policies.

Flexibility to work during normal operating hours, including overtime and weekends as needed, is expected. Work may occur at various locations with varying conditions.
