Job Title: Junior Cyber Security Analyst

Simvay Systems is a leading provider of IT and cybersecurity solutions, seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Cyber Security Analyst.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to work closely with our security team to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threats. As a Junior Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring security events and alerts using EDR and SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential threats
  • Creating security and alerting rules and contributing to workflow automation development
  • Assisting in incident response, triage, and basic threat analysis
  • Supporting the deployment and configuration of security solutions such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems
  • Performing vulnerability assessments and assisting with patch management processes
  • Developing technology documentation and security policies
  • Collaborating with the IT and cybersecurity teams to continuously improve security posture
  • Staying up to date on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of IT experience
  • Certifications such as CC, CCNA, Security+, CySA+, SSCP, or BTL1
  • A strong understanding of networking, system administration, or IT fundamentals
  • A passion for cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly
  • The ability to pass an NCIC background check
