Position Overview:

The Hedge Fund Accounting Associate Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing various accounting functions within our esteemed organization, SS&C. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about finance and accounting, and who thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all facets of ad-hoc reporting to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.
  • Oversee the month-end closing procedures to maintain financial integrity.
  • Ensure precise calculations of fund Net Asset Values (NAVs).
  • Facilitate the production of investor allocations and the computation of management and incentive fees.
  • Record accounting entries in the ledger with attention to detail.
  • Engage with a variety of financial instruments including bonds, swaps, CDOs, ABS, equities, options, FX, repos, and futures.
  • Collaborate with a global team to reconcile cash and securities with external sources, price fund portfolios, and calculate daily profit and loss.
  • Assist in investigating discrepancies between accounting and trade entry systems.
  • Work closely with auditors to prepare and present year-end financial statements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience or knowledge in hedge funds or fund of funds.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a hedge fund accountant or auditor.
  • Strong understanding of fund accounting with exposure to operational processes.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements.
  • Ideal candidates will have a background in audit firms, funds, or banks, as well as experience with administrators.
  • Proficient in Excel, including advanced functions such as Pivot Tables, Sumif, and V-lookup.
  • Familiarity with Geneva and/or Advent software is advantageous.
