Job Title: Principal Software Architect

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. We're seeking a talented Principal Software Architect to lead our software development efforts and drive innovation in our satellite, customer equipment, Internet gateway stations, and ground systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex software design projects under tight deadlines
  • Oversee the development process and quality, investigate anomalies, and drive corrective actions
  • Recruit, interview, and build teams of exceptional software engineers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a related science discipline
  • 12+ years of C++ and Object-Oriented Design skills
  • 12+ years of extensive experience in leading high-performance teams and delivering stellar results

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in computer science or computer engineering
  • Experience leading 20+ teams of software engineers to deliver stellar results
  • Experience with security issues associated with distributed systems and large-scale consumer internet services

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and overtime as needed
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
