As a Nutritional Services Aide, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities as detailed in the essential job functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to production sheets, recipes, and menus.
  • Utilize kitchen equipment effectively to complete tasks, including food processing and preparation.
  • Cook food on grills or in ovens, following established procedures.
  • Prepare cold food items in accordance with production sheets and recipes, including prepping vegetables and making salad mixes and sandwich spreads.
  • Assist cooks as directed and participate in food preparation processes.
  • When applicable, assist in assembling foods for final preparation and transport patient trays to and from patient rooms.
  • Support nutrition assistants to ensure high-quality patient service.
  • Follow sanitation protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Practice proper food handling techniques and maintain an efficient workspace.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to supervisory personnel promptly.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certifications: None required.

Complexity of Work: Ability to measure, weigh, and perform basic arithmetic during food preparation. Strong customer service skills and effective communication abilities are essential.

Work Experience: Experience in food service is preferred, or the capability to perform general food service duties.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment and manage various potential hazards. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Personal Protective Equipment: Adhere to Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
