Position Overview:

As part of our Nutrition Services team, you will work in a dynamic setting where your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing high-quality food items following production sheets, recipes, and menus.
  • Operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Cooking food using grills, ovens, and induction stoves.
  • Preparing cold food items, including salads and sandwich spreads.
  • Measuring, grinding, slicing, and mixing ingredients as required.
  • Assisting chefs and nutrition assistants in food preparation.
  • Assembling and transporting patient trays to and from rooms.
  • Supporting the setup and cleanup of special events and meals.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area by following sanitation protocols.
  • Practicing proper food handling techniques to ensure safety and hygiene.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with various equipment and potential hazards.
  • Adaptability to temperature changes from hot kitchen areas to cooler environments.
  • Awareness of potential allergic reactions due to exposure to food and sanitation chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with experience in food service or a willingness to learn general food service duties.
