Job Summary

As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers in a specific geographic territory, with a focus on wood coatings sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a territory market strategy to achieve sales goals and grow market share
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including product demonstrations and competitive product comparisons
  • Conduct sales calls, identify new business opportunities, and develop strategies to secure new accounts
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, technical, and manufacturing management, to ensure effective communication and execution of sales strategies
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales calls, and expense reports
  • Identify and address customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external contacts
  • Ability to interface effectively with sales, technical, and manufacturing management
  • Training and utilization of project management techniques, value selling, and six sigma tools
  • Knowledge of the wood adhesives market and wood coatings (surfacers, stains, pigmented finishes, sealers) used in this marketplace
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis
  • Ability to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs
  • Ability to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis
