Role Summary and Qualifications

The Oncology Nurse Navigator plays a vital role within the multidisciplinary team, acting as a patient advocate and educator throughout the cancer treatment journey.

The primary responsibility of the Oncology Nurse Navigator is to ensure adherence to treatment protocols. This is achieved by fostering relationships with patients and healthcare providers, coordinating care plans, assisting with appointments, and providing education and resources.

The Navigator is also accountable for managing resources effectively to ensure high-quality outcomes for cancer patients, collaborating with various healthcare professionals and facilities. This position serves as a crucial link between patients, families, physicians, and the broader healthcare community.

Qualifications Required:
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Registered Nurse.
  • Preferred Experience: Background in oncology nursing.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program with completion within 5 years of hire. Exemptions may apply for experienced RNs.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Oncology Certified Nurse (ONC) preferred.
