Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Deepest Cut Hospitality LLC. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities, modifying menus to meet quality standards, and estimating food requirements and costs.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities to ensure high-quality dishes are served to our guests.
  • Modify menus or create new ones to meet quality standards and customer preferences.
  • Estimate food requirements and costs to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Supervise kitchen staff to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to maintain a well-maintained kitchen.
  • Recruit and manage kitchen staff to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
  • Rectify arising problems or complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Give prepared plates the "final touch" to ensure presentation is appealing.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining records and reports.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Requirements and Skills
  • Proven working experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Excellent record of kitchen management and leadership.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Capable of delegating multiple tasks and managing a team.
  • Communication and leadership skills to motivate and guide staff.
  • Keep up with cooking trends and best practices to ensure menu innovation.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs, including MS Office and restaurant management software.
