Job Title: Assistant Product Manager, Marketing

Concordia Publishing House is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Product Manager, Marketing to join our team. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for managing products and services from ideation to sunsetting to optimize cost, value, and cycle time in support of our mission and business plan goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Metadata Management: Optimize, review, and maintain product metadata across ERP/Web systems to achieve maximum discoverability across all Marketing and Sales channels.
  • Partner Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure product metadata is ready for transmission to trade partners via ONIX/Edelweiss, including Amazon, Christianbook, and Ingram.
  • Product Opportunity Identification: Assist in identifying product opportunities through analysis of target consumer research, market trends, and competition.
  • Tagalong Management: Collaborate with Marketing Managers to set up, test, and launch tagalongs. Monitor tagalong velocity and make recommendations as needed.
  • Sales Trend Analysis: Analyze sales trends to make recommendations on reprints. Coordinate with internal partners to ensure product stock levels meet customer needs.
  • Marketing Promotion Coordination: Communicate Marketing needs for setup and testing of promo codes, coordinating with internal partners in Sales, Finance, and Customer Service. Ensure marketing promotions launch accurately and on time.
  • Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain appropriate records for new item setup, price changes, change of status notifications, and other product updates.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience with maintaining, extracting, and optimizing data via ERP and website platforms, working with and preparing metadata for external partners, including Amazon, Christianbook, and Ingram.
  • Teamwork: Experience working with cross-functional teams through product ideation, launch, and maintenance.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to accept and provide constructive feedback.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency using the Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and the Christian publishing industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field. Two years of experience in marketing or related field.
