The Wellness Associate reports directly to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, providing tailored services and care to each resident according to their individual Service Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as needed.
  • Monitor each resident's overall physical and mental health, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
  • Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with procurement as necessary.
  • Support in arranging shift coverage for unexpected absences.
  • Help organize and maintain assignments for the Wellness Director.
  • Participate in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
  • Respond to resident emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating appropriate medical follow-up.
  • Assist residents in keeping their living spaces clean, organized, and tidy.
  • Promptly attend to resident requests for assistance.
  • Support residents with their clothing and laundry needs as directed.
  • Assist with meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
  • Contribute to activity programs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with policy.
  • Participate in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all emergency protocols.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other team members.
  • Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in residents' physical or mental health.
Qualifications:
  • Current State Nurse's Aide registration is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience and passion for working with seniors.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
  • In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physically capable of bending and reaching.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • May be required to use assistive devices such as a Hoyer Lift.
Additional Information:
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • Flexibility to work shifts other than the one for which hired.
  • Willingness to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day) if necessary.
  • Potential exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.
  • May encounter residents with challenging behaviors due to mental health conditions.
  • Background checks, including criminal and drug tests, may be required.
  • Participation in random drug testing during employment may occur.
  • Photography and video recording may be utilized for community advertising purposes.
