Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and meeting the needs of families and significant others. Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse or other medical staff, this individual performs various patient care duties and follows the plan of care, taking into account the age and/or development stage of the patient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and record patient data, including vital signs, and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL)
  • Answer call lights and complete patient rounds to ensure timely and efficient care
  • Help with completing and maintaining files and forms for admission, transfer, and discharge
  • Take care of patient personal hygiene and assist with patient clean-up
  • Comply with Baylor Scott and White policies and procedures

Requirements

  • EDUCATION - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer
