Diesel Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a new challenge? US Foods, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team.
Job OverviewThis role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class-A CDL license and significant hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, to prevent equipment failures.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn-out parts, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment.
- Document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability in accordance with company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to road service calls and performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with other maintenance shop personnel to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A valid Class-A CDL license and 7+ years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or 5+ years of experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification.
- Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs and managing inventory and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision, and adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Physical ability to lift up to 120-150 pounds and perform various physical tasks, such as pushing/pulling heavy objects and climbing ladders.
