About the Role

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team as a Senior Fleet Mechanic. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment issues to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to company standards to prevent equipment downtime and ensure safety compliance.
  • Complete accurate documentation of repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability to maintain a high level of transparency and efficiency.
  • Respond to road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed to minimize downtime and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to achieve common goals and objectives, promoting a culture of teamwork and open communication.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both.
  • A valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification are preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving, and independent decision-making.
  • Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations as they apply to the shop and fleet.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits: The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $38 per hour, depending on relevant experience and education. Additional benefits include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends may be required, and overtime compensation will be provided as needed.
