About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Archer Hotel New York. As a key member of our Food and Beverage team, you will be responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Director/Kitchen Manager in leading a team to prepare, season, and cook menu and non-menu orders according to LodgeWorks/Brand specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in leading a team to prepare, season, and cook menu and non-menu orders, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, including kitchens, food preparation, dish washing, storage, service, and other areas as directed.
  • Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining records and accounts, ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Follow safe food handling and service practices, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Work closely with sales staff to service guests, banquets, meeting rooms, events, catering, restaurants, and bars, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with inventory, scheduling, ordering supplies/food, and labor/food cost controls, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.
  • Comply with licensing or regulatory requirements, maintaining a high level of professionalism and expertise.
Requirements
  • Two years + previous hotel (or like) kitchen supervisory experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Line cook/chef specializing in upscale Banquets and restaurants, with a strong understanding of culinary techniques and presentation.
  • High school degree or equivalent, with a focus on hospitality and culinary arts.
  • Food handling certificate in state or counties where required, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
