Position: Earthwork and Infrastructure Project Supervisor

Compensation: $67,000 - $76,000 Annually

Employment Type: Full-Time

Department: Community Development

Role Overview:

The Earthwork and Infrastructure Project Supervisor will collaborate with the Engineering Division to manage municipal development initiatives, aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for both residents and visitors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of engineering technicians in the field.
  • Monitor and oversee project timelines and progress.
  • Provide specialized technical expertise as needed.

Key Duties Include:

  • Plan, allocate, and manage resources effectively within the division.
  • Design highway projects and intersections, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Develop designs for storm and sanitary sewer systems, including sizing of storm pipes and culverts.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and construction details.
  • Assist the public with inquiries related to civil engineering and road projects.
  • Participate in meetings with consultants and property owners to discuss project details.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and research files utilizing computer software.
  • Review engineering plans for accuracy, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Draft specialized engineering agreements and construction contracts.
  • Collect and interpret traffic data for project assessments.
  • Complete special assignments, prepare reports, and present technical information.
  • Identify and develop potential sources for supplies and materials.
  • Create and design project plans and specifications.
  • Interpret construction and right-of-way plans for public understanding.
  • Assist in managing city survey crew activities.
  • Represent the department in various professional meetings.
  • Maintain records of construction cost estimates and expenditures.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution, along with 4-6 years of relevant experience as an Engineering Technician.

Licenses and Certifications:

A valid Driver's License is required.
