The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly skilled Patient Registration Representative to join our team. As a Patient Registration Representative, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth registration process for patients in our Medical Office Building Lab.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and verify patient identification, demographics, and financial information to accurately register patients.
- Collect and process payments as required, maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
- Monitor schedules daily to ensure timely registration of patients.
- Conduct bedside admissions as needed, ensuring accurate and efficient registration processes.
- Enter patient information into our computer system with precision and attention to detail.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive experience.
- Balance cash drawers and maintain accurate records as part of the end-of-day process.
- Explain facility policies and obtain consent for treatment and insurance forms as required.
- Comply with Medicare/Medicaid and other insurance regulations, ensuring accurate and timely registration processes.
- Participate in staff training and education to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, including special projects and administrative tasks.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in clerical, registration, and/or customer service within a healthcare setting.
