System Administrator Job Description

Scott County Hospital is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and update software, hardware, and network devices to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and reliability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems and outages to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery procedures to protect our data and systems.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to ensure secure and efficient access to our systems.
  • Document system configurations, policies, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Provide training and support to users on IT-related matters to enhance their productivity and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve our IT infrastructure and services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional certifications in IT are a plus.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the IT field and ability to adapt to new technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to work effectively with our team and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of desktop and network operating systems, applications, and network protocols.
  • Knowledge of system security, backup, and recovery best practices to ensure data protection and integrity.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role with a strong track record of technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Expectation of Service:
  • This is a non-exempt, 40-hour per week position requiring regular and punctual attendance.
