Job Title: Housekeeping Manager

The Housekeeping Manager is a key member of our team at The Standard, High Line, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort for our guests.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping department, including room assignments, cleaning, and daily inspections.
  • Supervise and train housekeeping staff to ensure excellent service and high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering department to address maintenance issues and ensure timely completion.
  • Plan, organize, and direct team members to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain proper inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment, and inform the Director of Housekeeping of any shortages.
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing a team of housekeeping employees.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals, and direction quickly, and multitask.
  • Working knowledge of rooms management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Housekeeping processes and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain a budget and control labor costs and expenses.
  • Proven comfort and experience interacting effectively with all levels of management, guests, associates, and clientele.
  • Activator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Proficiency with general office PC applications.
  • Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating, and personal interface skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 lb. without assistance.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Work with sharp objects in a safe manner.
  • Will be exposed to hot and cold temperature extremes.
