Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Crew Supervisor to join our team at McCormick & Co Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall performance of the team meets our objectives for scorecard metrics and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure overall performance of the team to meet objectives for scorecard metrics and operational goals.
  • Pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem-solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Coach, train, and ensure compliance to plant established procedures, including work rules, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Coordinate and schedule crew vacation requests and overtime.
  • Determine needs and conduct training required for new and existing employees.
  • Ensure product meets quality standards and coordinates problem-solving directly with QA floor inspector.
  • Resolve minor mechanical and processing problems and make necessary adjustments to keep lines running.
  • Perform job tasks of other team members of jobs of equal or lower grades.
  • Facilitate teamwork and coaching among team members.
  • Hold meetings for production tracking, problem-solving, and team development.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of manufacturing and/or industrial experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform changeovers and preventative maintenance on all production equipment required.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems and resolve minor mechanical and processing problems required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components, and inventory required.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, statistical database applications, and Lotus Notes required.
  • Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem-solving initiatives required.
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people required.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment required.
  • Ability to work overtime/weekends required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SAP, Infinity, PowerPoint, Access preferred.
  • Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required and formal leadership training strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency to operate all equipment in the business strongly preferred.
  • Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings strongly preferred.
