Position Summary:

  • Oversees and directs the environmental services personnel at a designated location in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  • Provides leadership, support, coordination, and guidance to ensure quality standards, inventory levels, safety protocols, and customer service expectations are fulfilled.
  • Embodies the characteristics necessary to promote the Company’s Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.
  • Responsible for coordinating and ensuring the timely completion of project and program work within the facility across various shifts.
  • Utilizes protective equipment in all relevant tasks.
  • Maintains records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
  • Ensures all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
  • Guarantees the facility is stocked with adequate janitorial supplies.
  • Conducts periodic inventories of supplies and materials, trains new staff, and recommends dismissals when necessary.
  • Acts as a liaison between building occupants or administrators and the environmental services team.
  • Communicates effectively all directives from management, building occupants, and administrators to the environmental services staff.
  • Capable of performing the duties of day porter, custodian, and floor technician as needed.
  • Training, quality control, and in-service education for staff are essential responsibilities, including conducting regular assessments of work quality.
  • As a department head, the Manager must conduct themselves and their department in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in Environmental Services within a school or healthcare setting, along with personnel supervision, is desired.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Must be punctual and able to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and implement basic infection control procedures.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and mixing of cleaning chemicals.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts as required.
  • Familiarity with Environmental Services, laundry, and floor care program requirements.
  • Ability to maintain records and complete necessary reports.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to positively interact with residents, clients, and other personnel.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as mandated by State, Local, and/or Customers.
  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must reside within the service area.
