Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on dose assessment and maintain accurate dosimetry records.
- Implement ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) practices and policies to minimize radiation exposure.
- Advise on the selection and use of personal protective equipment necessary for safe operations.
- Support health physics services for site operations under the mentorship of senior health physicists.
- Utilize standard radiation safety principles and health physics instrumentation to deliver effective support.
- Collaborate with team members to oversee and maintain health physics technology services.
Security Clearance Requirements
Applicants must be prepared to undergo a comprehensive background review, which includes checks of personal references, credit history, criminal records, and educational verification. Positions may require obtaining and maintaining a security clearance, necessitating U.S. citizenship.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent State Credential.
- Knowledge of health physics concepts, principles, and techniques.
- Familiarity with federal regulations and standards governing radiation protection.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in health physics or a related scientific discipline.
- Practical experience in radiological controls and health physics.
