Radiation Therapist

About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at TRAC Recruiting, Inc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality radiation therapy to patients in accordance with physician prescriptions.

Responsibilities:

Position patients for treatment with accuracy and precision.
Conduct treatment sessions independently and under the general direction of the physician.
Verify and administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific sites in accordance with the prescription.
Assist the dermatologist in localization and simulation, and document treatment areas of the patient.
Check for side effects of the skin, such as skin irritation, erythema, blistering, and moist desquamation, and report to the physician.
Educate and reassure patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing the physician's advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care.
Perform daily warm-up and QA of the machine prior to the start of treatments each day.
Follow principles of radiation protection for the patient, yourself, and others.

Requirements:

Current and active RTT Board Certification and ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy R.T.
Licensed by the state in which you will be working (additional state licenses will be covered at no cost to the candidate).
Recent graduates to seasoned professional Radiation Therapists will be considered.
Dermatology experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong time management skills, excellent attendance, and punctuality, and the ability to work as a team.
Strong interpersonal communication skills with effective analysis and problem-solving skills.
Salary varies based on experience.
