Job Overview

Position: Junior Financial Analyst

Educational Requirements:

  • A minor in a related field may be considered.

  • Relevant experience can be a substitute for formal education.
  • More experience is advantageous if the degree is not directly related.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is mandatory. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Essential Skills:

- Familiarity with SAP or PeopleSoft systems is a plus for new graduates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage various accounting functions through the consistent application of established processes and checklists.
- Implement and maintain accounting controls and processes.
- Prioritize ongoing tasks and project work effectively.
- Assess, recommend, and apply enhancements to improve efficiency in account reconciliations and controls.
- Utilize technical accounting knowledge and Excel expertise to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to support departmental efficiency and standardization initiatives.

Daily Duties:
- Conduct complex accounting tasks including account analysis and journal entry preparation.
- Handle Project Costing and Asset Management tasks as assigned.
- Provide exceptional customer service support to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tasks, including journal postings and audit requests.
- Develop a solid understanding of company policies and procedures to ensure compliance in reconciliations and record retention.
- Review and refine current processes to guarantee timely and accurate completion in line with company standards.
- Actively participate in team meetings and cross-train with colleagues.
- Maintain and update documentation for all managed processes.

Monthly Responsibilities:
- Complete all assigned Month-End Closing tasks.
- Create and post journal entries.
- Ensure the completion of system processes.
- Review and correct journal errors.
- Prepare and distribute ad hoc reports.
- Certify assigned account reconciliations.

- Capable of managing multiple priorities and projects while maintaining high service levels.

- Ability to interpret data and understand its business implications.

Experience:
- Proficient in MS Excel, including the use of Pivot Tables.
- Familiarity with MS Excel macro functions is advantageous but not required.
- Experience in a customer service environment is a plus but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of PeopleSoft or SAP systems is beneficial but not essential.
