The Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a vital role in monitoring the health and wellness of individuals, ensuring that they receive appropriate health and medical care that is person-centered and compliant with the Department of Disability Services.

Experience: A minimum of one year working with individuals with developmental disabilities and two years in psychiatric mental health settings or specialized training in psychiatric mental health nursing.

Key Responsibilities:
Utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and critical thinking skills to provide care for TCS individuals.

Ensure the effective implementation of all interventions outlined in the patient's care plan with a person-centered approach.

Leverage the resources and expertise of Total Care Services, Inc.

to establish collaborative workflows, standards, policies, protocols, guidelines, and documentation systems that support safe, reliable, high-quality, evidence-based care.


Implement medical orders and coordinate the patient's care plan with medical regimes, therapy services, and community resources to facilitate comprehensive ongoing care for your assigned caseload.


Document written notes in each individual's record on a monthly basis or more frequently as indicated in the individual's plan of care. Assistance in this task may be delegated to other nursing personnel.

Coordinate the development and ongoing review of each individual's care plan.

Provide technical supervision to other nursing personnel, including LPNs.

Assist in the delivery of other required program services as needed.

Support the psychosocial needs of program participants.

Deliver protocol-driven assessments, care coordination, and interventions tailored to diverse patient populations.

Exhibit sound clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications:


Possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia and Maryland, with at least one year of experience in medication administration and hands-on nursing care.

Must have reliable transportation, valid insurance, and a safe driving record.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Current CPR certification with the ability to renew annually.

Must be a US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US.

Must be fully vaccinated and meet all pre-employment qualifications.

Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (flexible as needed)
